“How might we ensure that all Australians have access to safe, affordable and liveable housing today, and into the future?”
 
This was the question UNSW students recently wrestled with during a day-long hackthon. Shelter NSW CEO John Engeler and Principal Policy Officer Cathy Callaghan (pictured below) were delighted to be roving mentors at the event, impressed by the fresh thinking and genuine concern of the students. Of course, many of the international students from as far as Germany and Singapore asked us the obvious question “why doesn’t the Government just build more social housing?”.  Well done UNSW for facilitating this multi-discipline event for the professionals and leaders of the future.
