Shelter NSW’s members are crucial to our work. Our advocacy is rooted in the needs and concerns of those with lived experience of housing stress or homelessness, and our policy research is guided by the expertise of our academic and professional members.
A core part of our work is engaging with and supporting our members’ own needs and interests in the housing policy space. We keep our members up to date with the critical issues across the housing spectrum, and act as a point of connection between the community and key political decision-makers. Shelter NSW seeks to empower and engage our members to create tangible social and economic change where it matters.
As a Shelter NSW member, there will be a range of opportunities for information and skills sharing throughout our networks, as well as events connecting members to community leaders and stakeholders. Our members also participate in the governance of the organisation – both at our Annual General Meeting, and throughout the year as part of our regular consultation and engagement work.
