We are very sad to announce that Kayla Clanchy has resigned from her role as our Policy Officer specialising in regional housing issues. Kayla joined us in 2021 and has made a fantastic contribution to the sector in her time here. This includes her advocacy about our research into rental insecurity and housing stress in regional NSW; highlighting key issues like climate and disaster resilience, as well as the need to regulate short-term rental accommodation. Kayla also presented at several of our Members Meetings and worked regularly with members and local government across the state. We’re sure Kayla will continue pushing for more safe, secure and affordable housing as an active member of her community. We wish her all the best in future, and look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next.
We would also like to thank Pilar Aberasturi for her hard work assisting Shelter NSW with local advocacy campaign work as a consultant for the past couple of years. Pilar has moved on to other projects but remains a member of Shelter NSW. Best of luck, Pilar and thank you again!
If any members would like us to pass a message on to Kayla or Pilar to thank them for their contribution to Shelter NSW, please feel free to reply to this email or send a message to admin@shelternsw.org.au.
And as we go to print, we are advising that our Principal Policy Officer Cathy Callaghan has resigned and will leave us at the end of January. Before then she will be working on a number of submissions so will definitely still be available until then.
