Rental Affordability Index (RAI) – 10th Edition about to be launched

For the last ten years National Shelter and SGS Economics and Planning has produced the RAI, a key resource for tracking rental affordability across Australia. We are just about to launch the 2024 edition.  Spoiler alert – the private rental market is proving incredibly difficult for many across the nation. But contrary to some narratives, it’s been very hard for a long time and we have 10 years of rich data to prove it!

Join us in Sydney (or online) for the official launch of this important piece of research on Friday 22 November.

This year’s will be presented by Ellen Witte (Principal and Partner, SGS), and feature insights from Trina Jones (NSW Rental Commissioner), Tom Loomes (Executive Director, Strategic Planning & Policy, NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure), Alison Holloway (Chief Executive Officer | Principal & Partner, SGS), and John Engeler (CEO, Shelter NSW and Chair, National Shelter) on the evolution of the private rental market, its social and economic impacts, and policy solutions to help ease the housing affordability crisis moving forward.

When: Friday, November 22nd at 9:30 – 11am AEDT
Where: Gilbert + Tobin, 200 Barangaroo Avenue, Level 35, Tower 2, Sydney, or online
