We were very interested to hear the Minister for Planning, Paul Scully address a recent Property Council event where he implored the property development sector to not put up ‘rubbish proposals’, going further to note that the social licence has been diminished over time because of poor projects.
We totally agree with the Minister but wonder what will drive the private property development sector to come to the party?
Shelter NSW CEO John Engeler participated with sector colleagues on a panel at the event, encouraging sector participants and Government to think of the ‘temporal’ elements of various government proposals. Ten-to-fifteen years comes around very quickly – just ask anyone now exiting the Rudd-era National Rental Affordability (NRAS) scheme!
