It’s obvious to anyone who visits, lives or works in Parramatta that it is indeed undergoing significant transformation and is at the centre of one of Australia’s fastest growing regions.  
 

Shelter NSW commends the City of Parramatta Council for preparing the draft Parramatta 2050. It’s an important step in preparing for the future. Our core concern is in ensuring that the Parramatta of 2050, home to half of one million people, does in fact envisage and deliver a secure home for all. Our submission to Council offered some recommendations to Council as to how it can strategically pursue this, particularly given its own assessment that many residents are already suffering due to long-term housing stress and lack of access to a diverse range of housing.
