The Sydney Alliance continues to be an important partner of Shelter NSW in the pursuit of housing justice. In the lead up to the next NSW state election, the Alliance is commencing its organising cycle, preparing for listening campaigns across Sydney to identify core issues and key leaders that will inform the Alliance’s advocacy into 2027.
As a result, Shelter NSW Housing Officer, Drew Beacom, attended the Alliance’s two-day foundations training in late August, helping to ensure that Shelter will have an impactful role in shaping the political conversation ahead of the next election. The training helped to strengthen ties with our civil society colleagues as well as refine core organising competencies.
To continue our meaningful engagement with the Alliance and the broader community, Shelter NSW will be playing a key role in the Metro Sydney/Inner West listening campaign happening on November 12th. The Metro Sydney/Inner West listening will be complemented by events in Northern, North West and South West Sydney. If you would like to get involved or just wish to help shape the agenda by participating on the night, please contact Drew (drew@shelternsw.org.au).
