Farewell to James, Shelter NSW Membership & Engagement Coordinator

James Sherriff, our membership and engagement coordinator, is moving to new endeavours as part of his studies to become a teacher after almost five years at Shelter NSW. Anyone who has had the chance to work with James will know of his passion for social justice and grassroots organising. His considerable contribution to the work of the Sydney alliance while at Shelter NSW is worthy of special mention. While our team is sad to see James go, we are certain his engagement skills and experience working with people from all walks of life will greatly contribute to his next personal and professional projects!

James’ achievements during his time at Shelter NSW include successfully expanding our membership while increasing levels of engagement with our policy and advocacy work, working extensively with the Sydney Alliance to organise large public events, and building the capacity of local community groups to advocate for more and better quality social and affordable housing in their neighbourhoods.

Shelter NSW will be recruiting a Policy Officer to continue our membership, engagement and advocacy work shortly, so keep an eye out if you know someone interested in joining our team.
