Homes NSW is currently working with the community to investigate the potential renewal of the Bellambi public housing estate in the Illawarra.

Shelter NSW was delighted to attend a recent workshop with Bellambi locals, leaders and stakeholders to better understand people’s needs, aspirations and priorities for the potential renewal of Bellambi.

According to Homes NSW, the workshops will explore how best to:

• deliver more and better homes, including social, affordable and private housing
• improve the quality and amount of open space, community facilities and infrastructure
• create vibrant, supported and connected communities
• help people and families thrive in the community where they live.

We were impressed by the energy, honesty and passion of the local people for this long-standing community and neighbourhood.
