Following the successful meeting with Central Coast Council late last month, Shelter NSW were invited to put in a submission on Central Coast Council’s draft Local Housing Strategy before it goes to the June Council meeting. This invitation was extended to us despite the public exhibition period ending earlier this year and for this, we thank the dedicated Planning Team at Central Coast Council.

Overall, we are very heartened by the many initiatives committed to in the Local Housing Strategy (including the creation of an Affordable Housing Contributions Scheme), and our comments reflect this. We of course provided advice, data, and recommendations to Council where relevant and we are seeking clarity on some targets related to affordable housing.
