This National Homelessness Week, Homelessness NSW will be officially getting proceedings underway with their launch event at Parliament House, Beyond Crisis: Reimagining Our Homelessness Response.

As demand on the service system grows, National Homelessness Week provides an opportunity for services and community groups to raise awareness of the impact of homelessness and the solutions required to make it rare, brief, and non-recurrent, such as increasing the number of social housing homes and the baseline funding for homelessness services.

This Homelessness Week, advocates, policymakers, sector leaders and community members are invited to come together to discuss what the future of the system could look like, and what it would take to move the system from crisis management to homelessness prevention.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from sector leaders in a panel discussion, including inaugural Women’s Community Shelters CEO, Annabelle Daniel OAM, National Director of Homelessness at St Vincent’s Health Australia, Erin Longbottom, Bridge Housing CEO, Laurie Leigh, Manager of Community Restorative Centre’s Advocacy, Research, and Policy Unit, Marisa Moliterno, and Founder and Executive Director of Bunmabunmarra Services, Kristie Burge. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to continue conversations over networking drinks.
