It’s that time of year again, where renters right across the country start cracking out their aluminium foil coverings for single-glazed windows and create MacGyver-like contraptions to try and keep their homes liveable for the next 3 months or so.
If you are one of these renters – whether in private, community, or public housing – consider signing up as a Summer Renter Researcher with the Better Renting group before applications close Friday 27 October!
What is the Renter Researchers project?
Better Renting send indoor temperature trackers to renters to measure the actual conditions (temperature, relative humidity) of their homes during summer. During the project, you’ll participate in surveys and be part of an online community for Renter Researchers. Better Renting will release reports throughout the project to generate media attention and create political pressure to implement minimum energy efficiency standards for rentals.
Why join?
Past Renter Researcher projects have delivered real change, helping to establish minimum ceiling insulation standards in the ACT. This Summer Renter Researchers project will be the largest Better Renting has ever taken on. With more Renter Researchers than ever before, the project can reach more MPs and media outlets, to drive meaningful political change. If you’re passionate about improving the quality of rental homes and want to join an advocacy-driven community of renters, apply below!
