Mission Australia Youth Survey: Share your thoughts and help shape sector advocacy

The Mission Australia Youth Survey – Australia’s largest annual survey of young people – is now open, giving 14–19 year olds the chance to share their experiences, concerns and hopes for the future.

Each year, tens of thousands of young people take part, with findings used by governments, councils and community organisations to shape policy, services and investment. The survey covers key issues including cost of living, mental health, housing and homelessness, education and wellbeing.

Recent results highlight the growing pressures facing young people, with cost of living, mental health and housing consistently among the top concerns nationwide.

For Shelter NSW and our partners – including Mission Australia, who has been a member of Shelter NSW for many years, this is an important opportunity to ensure young people’s voices are heard, and particularly on housing affordability and homelessness, in the context of growing concerns about intergenerational equity, and what kind of society and environment the current generations in power will be leaving to future ones. We warmly encourage members, stakeholders and others to share widely and support young people to participate.
