Launched for IWD 2016, a new plan by NSW housing organisations focusses on the housing needs of older women and solutions.  The plan, A Plan for Change: Homes for Older Women, was launched by Housing Minister, Brad Hazzard, and jointly developed by Homelessness NSW, the Women's Housing Company, the Mercy Foundation, YWCA, Shelter NSW, Novafor women & children, the Tenants' Union and the St Vincent de Paul Society.

The three homelessness peaks in NSW have issued a media release calling for Minister Upton to immediately release the results of the tender for specialist homelessness services.  This follows further delays and "with every day of delay, the level of dismay, distrust and disillusion across the whole sector escalates."

This report is about the ‘state of play’ of the dwellings funded under the Crisis Accommodation Program (CAP) in New South Wales. The report covers the history of the program, explores how the properties are being used by specialist homelessness services and registered community housing providers, and looks at what role specialist homelessness services see for these dwellings part of a comprehensive response to homelessness.
